| Over a short period of three years, the DC AHEC
has established affiliations with 30 neighborhood
health clinics. These sites serve as clinical
education settings for students from local medical
schools, physician assistant, schools of nursing,
dental, social work, and mental health training
programs. Through service learning and professional
education, the AHEC is "involved to resolve
health care disparities" and positively impact
the competencies of future health care providers.
