Recommended Readings:
  • Picture Exercise - Thanks to Sandy Hoar and Denise Cora-Bramble and the ISCOPES project curriculum team.

  • Implicit Association Test -
Please read the introduction to this material carefully. Remember, this test is experimental. You may use it as a tool to examine your own unconscious (not under conscious control) attitudes. You should use it in conjunction with your own conscious analysis of your attitudes. Implicit attitudes can be changed by various factors, including contact with people of other cultures and races. However, it requires more than just contact, it requires some awareness of your own responses. Your conscious attitudes are shown by your responses to the photos above, while unconscious attitudes may be detected by using this test. After you complete both, take a few minutes to write down your reactions to these exercises. If you feel comfortable doing so, discuss them with another person, preferably of a different culture, race, age or gender.
NOTE: This exercise is completely anonymous, no-one will view your answers, so please be honest.
